These Reading Activities are divided into two categories:
Reading Comprehension:
Some of these reading comprehension activities are crafts and other activities built around a classic story. Other activities will have students practice reading comprehension by following directions written on a early reader level. Soon to be included material will have students learn magic tricks, follow recipes, learn card games, figure out story puzzles, go on treasure hunts, solve a mystery story. These are all highly motivating reading comprehension activities that don't make a student slog through reading comprehension questions.
Basic Decoding:
These materials include reading games and leveled reading material. Included here are beginning reading texts we call Phonics Scripts. These scripts are phonics readers written in a drama-script format, which a child and an adult read together. The adult dialogue lines carry the plot, while the child's dialogue is written in phonetically controlled text. This approach gives very beginning readers and struggling readers the opportunity to participate in reading complex stories.

More about PHONICS SCRIPTS
Phonics Scripts are stories written in a drama-script format, which a child and an adult read together. The adult dialogue lines carry the plot, while the child's dialogue is written in phonetically controlled text. This approach is a solution to the limitations of phonics texts. The restricted vocabulary of a phonics story limits the storyteller's ability to capture a child's imagination with an interesting plot and absorbing characters. As these scripts are published, they will progress to teach the basic rules of the phonetic code.
Reading dialogue parts side-by-side is a very intimate way for a child and an adult to experience reading together. Furthermore, taking on a character role and acting out the plot creates an active involvement with the story that increases reading comprehension as well as reading enjoyment.
Phonics Scripts use a phonics sequence adapted from the Wilson Reading System, which is used widely in schools.
